It’s as easy as 1, 2, and 3:

For Buyers

For Sellers

If you need to buy something, simply ask the seller to send you an invoice to pay. You can make an invoice request directly from the main welcome screen, then type in the seller’s email address and our system will automatically send them an email requesting an invoice. Or you can just call the seller and ask them to send you an invoice through Bitfi. It does not matter if the seller has an existing account on Bitfi, any seller can send you an invoice through the Bitfi system.

If you want to sell something and the buyer is hesitant about your item or service or if the transaction is a significant expense, give your customer 100% confidence and security by offering to run the transaction through Bitfi. Even without these constraints, build your reputation and customer centric approach by offering buyers a total risk-free experience. Simply send an invoice to the buyer through the Bitfi platform and the buyer will automatically receive a payment request to the Bitfi specified Bitcoin address.

Once you receive the invoice from the seller, check it for accuracy and make sure that the item description is correct, the number of units is correct, and that the specified lead time by the seller is acceptable to you. Our system enforces that you receive exactly what is specified on the invoice and the seller is only obligated to deliver what is on the invoice. If everything is correct, the invoice shows a Bitcoin payment address to make a payment to. (DO NOT SEND PAYMENT TO ANY ADDRESS OTHER THAN THE ONE SPECIFIED BY Bitfi.) Once you make payment, the seller is immediately notified and will begin processing your order. However, even though the seller can see the funds in their Bitfi account, the seller cannot access or withdraw these funds until you receive the items or services stated on the invoice.

Make sure that the invoice is accurate and reflect all details about the item, the quantity, and the expected lead time. It is very important that you specify a realistic lead time (for example, if an item is not in stock and normally takes two weeks to ship out, do not specify that the lead-time will be 3 days) because our system tracks the lead-time and if you do not make shipment and specify a tracking number within the allotted lead-time plus the allowable extra margin then our system will automatically send the payment back to the buyer and you will have to initiate a new transaction.

Our system will then track the entire order process to make sure that all the conditions of the invoice are followed. Once you receive the item that you purchased, our system will notify you and ask you to rate the transaction (if you are buying physical goods are system is integrated with all major shipping carriers and knows when delivery is made and if you are buying services or non-tangible goods our system will require the seller to mark the transaction as complete). You will then have 36 hours from the completion of the transaction to rate the transaction. If the transaction occurred as expected the system will then release funds to the seller. If you indicate that something went wrong (for example, you did not receive the item you ordered, or received wrong item, or you believe you did not receive the services as described) then the transaction will automatically be routed to the Bitfi team for human review. Our team will then review documents from both the seller and buyer to determine if the funds should be returned to the buyer or released to the seller.

Buyer makes payment. You will see the payment in your Bitfi Bitcoin wallet and begin processing the order. If you are selling a physical item (i.e. computer) then our system will automatically notify the buyer that delivery has been made and give the buyer 36 hours to give feedback on the transaction. If buyer rates the transaction as satisfactory within this time period the funds are automatically released to you. If the buyer does not rate the transaction at all then funds are automatically released to you after 36 hours (our goal is to release payments to sellers as quickly as.

And that’s it! Going forward every transaction you make on Bitfi is fully protected and our system enforces that you received exactly what you paid for. If you do not, your payment held in seller’s Bitcoin account is returned to you.

That’s all there is to it. Sellers who encourage buyers to buy through Bitfi find increased sales volume and higher order size per purchase. A hesitant buyer can quickly become a motivated buyer when transaction risk is eliminated.

Both buyers and sellers should note that disputes through our system are extraordinarily rare and if they do occur then our team will review documents and testimony from both the buyer and seller and determine if the seller performed their obligations according to what is stated in the invoice. In this case funds will be either released to seller or forwarded back to buyer or an alternate resolution may be suggested that would insure a fair and reasonable outcome for both parties.
